My Pregnancy Must-Have's!

So I've noticed that every pregnant women has a variety of things they reccommend and swear by while they are pregnant. I have a couple things I'd reccomend getting for expecting mothers myself. These are the majority of things that I've adapted since being pregnant, and use religously.

*Lysol Disinfectant Spray- The last thing I want to be is sick so I invest a lot of money into sprays like Lysol. I spray it over my bedding, pillows, couch etc. every night to try and make the house as clean & healthy as possible. I think it’s a good habit to get in because babies get sick fast. Sometimes the smell is a little overwhelming, so I also have a couple cans of febreeze to make the house smell pretty. Love my sprays!

*Prego Book- I haven’t finished this book yet, but I’m about half-way through and really LOVE it. It gets me laughing out loud all the time, and is great with advice. I feel like it’s the perfect book because the other books are really “preachy”, and scare me some. This puts a realistic spin on everything for me!

*Olay Body Wash- People have their own body wash, and after trying every single brand on the shelves, I’ve finally found the one I love love love! Being pregnant has made my skin dry, and with all the changes going on, I don’t’ always feel so clean & pretty like I used to. These bodies wash smells like pure heaven, So girly! But the best part is how soft it makes my skin. It’s like a 5-in-one body wash.

*Body Pillow- This is the #1 universal item recommended for pregnant women and for a good reason. Nobody touches my body pillow at night time hahaha

*Maternity Jeans- Who would’ve thought these would ACTUALLY be great to wear being pregnant and all? Hahah. I just bought a couple pairs last week, and I really regret not buying them sooner. The second your belly starts growing, there really isn’t a jean size out there that will make you feel as comfortable as these. The jeans I have now are so cute, with diamonds all over the pocket & everything; they just have this amazing supportive belly band to make it as comfortable as possible. I hope everyone else isn’t as stubborn as me and gets these asap.

*Snacks- When you are pregnant, hunger can strike at any moment and when it does, you better be ready lol. The best way to fight this off has been to invest in little snacks and small meals. I personally love things like string cheese, raviolis, sandwiches etc. They are all easy to make, easier to eat and help the embarrassing tummy growls that happen 1234234x a day.

*Sweat Pants- there isn’t a better time to pull of being a bum and wearing sweat pants than when you are carrying a child, but I think you can still make them cute. I’ve found yoga pants, with no tight elastic or ties around the top are the best. If they are still tight fitting, than it gives your body some figure and you still end up comfortable so it’s a win-win. The loose sweatpants just make me look terrible!

*Baby Oil- I’ve always done this, but putting baby oil on right after the show before you dry off is the best way to keep my skin soft and hopefully is another way to prevent stretch marks! It’s just a great way to keep my skin soft all day!

I'm sure I'll be adding things to the list as I get further along, but as of 17 weeks pregnant- this is my life :)

16 weeks

How far along:
16 weeks! It's flying by.

Total Weight Gain: haven't weighed myself in a while, but last doctor's appointment which was a week ago was 10 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Thankfully yes. I went shopping and bought a couple more cardigans, and some comfortable pants. I'm going to wait like three more weeks before I invest in some good maternity pants just because I don't know what size to get...for now-sweatpants work!

Sleep: sleeping is perfect now. Second trimester really is a much better time!

Miss anything: I miss little things like tanning, and drinking wine...but this is a experience I only have for 9 months and I REALLY want to enjoy it all so those aren't things I'm terribly upset by.

Movement: o my gosh not yet, but I am waiting! At the doctor's appointment, the baby was ADORABLE..moving so much & punching everything....The nurse doing the ultrasound pointed out the things that are going to be killing me in a couple weeks when the baby started jabbing the sides of my tummy. I'm fairly nervous for those!

Food Cravings: I've had Pizza Hutt twice this week. it sounds delicious for breakfast lunch & dinner...but I'm learning to control these crazy food binges because I'll be paying for it later. & Girl Scout Cookies..........I want some so bad, but they haven't been selling them. I think EVERY Girl craves these regardless of pregnancy hahah.

Any new habits: nothing tooo special.

Things making you sick yet: I've been getting nauseous again, I've been smelling things from MILES away and I swear they are enough to make me pass out. I really can't stand being in public places right now because everybody smells so bad hahahha. It's an awful feeling! I also started getting really bad gag reflexes....I mean I've had them for a couple weeks, but this week they have been acting up hella! Brushing my teeth is a dreadful task...........

Starting to show yet: Yes :) I have a feeling I will be one big mama because my whole body has like swelled up, instead of just a cute little baby bump. Oh well. I've thought of a cute way to not hate the fact I'm gaining wait & become depressed- I just remind myself that my body image just isn't the most important thing anymore because a little baby has made it home for the next 9 months. :) I started getting really sad about gaining all this weight, until l I read things like this & started changing my mentality. Now, I'm completely content with the weight I'm gaining because It means my baby is healthy & living great in there!

Gender prediction: I WAS RIGHT! We have a baby boy on the way!!!!! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am. When I first found out I had a boy, honestly I was confused at how I felt. Of course, I still loved the baby, but I just didn't know how i felt. After about four hours, I was so sooooooooo excited to have a little baby boy soon! & boys have the cutest little clothes out there now, where have I been? I bought the cutest stuff already.... I'm especially excited to see the amazing bond that Jeff will have with the baby & that I will. It's obvious that a son & fathers relationship is so different than a mother & son relationship, but both have the most amazing things to offer.

Best moment this week: Finding out the gender! It feels so amazing to know what is growing in me now, and It makes this that much more real. <3 I'm so lucky!

14 weeks!

14 Weeks: Just like Dad, Baby loves the SF 49ers. :)

How far along: 14 weeks, aka 3 & a half months. :)

Align Left
Total Weight Gain: up two pounds this week. Total: 8 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Just the one pair of pants and a couple shirts. I'm truly overdue for a shopping spree... even my tank-tops have got to tight and short. & my favorite part of the day is coming home and jumping in JUMBO size relaxing clothes. Love Bummin' it.

Sleep: Any problems I have sleeping are my own fault. I've been way too stressed beyond repair.... So I usually toss and turn or wake up from dreams. Baby has been treating me good though, no crazy pregnancy problems currently!

Miss anything: Tanning. Breathing normal. Feeling Confident.... Girl Problems haha.

Movement: Nooooo! I hear this is the most amazing part of pregnancy so I can't wait for this :)

Food Cravings: No Famous Daves this week? weird. BUT, Ice-Cold water is always relaxing and tastes more amazing than anything else. On the flip side, I think since baby has been developing it's taste-buds...it gets to input on what I put in my body. This week I found out baby does NOT like oatmeal. Needless to say: that came up about four minutes after breakfast...............gross....i know.

Any new habits: Nothing that popped up this week. I've been such a bum...

Things making you sick yet: STRESS!!!! leave me alone life---is how I've been feeling haha. I've been putting too toooooo much pressure on myself, and really need a vacation or something. Yesterday, I got the worst ringing in my left ear & after researching it, found out It could've been from too much stress. so I need to relax & be careful. Other than that, I've been smelling everything on a whole new level lately. It isn't pleasant.

Starting to show yet: Yes. BIG is how I feel. It's so weird looking at the way my body has been changing........Love/hate relationship! :D

Gender prediction: ohhh I have no idea anymore. We have four days until our big day! I can't even predict it anymore! It's making me so anxious!

Best moment this week:
*This week Jeffrey and I celebrated our 6 years! All things get better with time, I know this, but this year felt so amazing. The baby has given us a connection/chemistry that I don't think people can feel until they've shared it themselves. It was just so special! We went to the Shark Reef & Famous Daves! (Oh i guess i lied earlier... DID have it once this week :D) & than we gave presents! I got a beautiful promise ring, and I got Jeff an Xbox which he definitely has deserved & haven't had money to buy it himself. He looks like a little kid on Christmas, so excited & calling everyone! It was an amazing day.

* I also bought the baby it's first pair of clothing, well partial clothing... SOCKS :) 49ers socks :D that's Jeff's TEAM and they had them for so cheap, I couldn't resist. I figured whatever sex the baby is we could still make a super cute outfit out of them for! So stoked!

*I realized we haven't shared any of the names we've liked. So I wanted to make some sort of list...so I can remember the process.
  • CONNER -this one I randomly saw somewhere, showed Jeff, and we loved it. It's a trueeeee canidate if we have a boy!
  • Calli- I love this name, but Jeff & the world hates it. Don't think I'll be getting anywhere with it haha.
  • Lia- My mom called me and said she had the cutest name for a little girl. She said she was thinking about it for hours what the middle name could be, but she loved Lia. I said if we found something cute to go with it, it'd make a pretty cute big first name. Some people have no middle name, and a name meshed together for the first ( love that idea.) So i added this to the list.
  • Ramona- HAHHA. no way will I ever even name my pet fish this name, but when I told Jeff I liked Cali, he said he liked the name...RAMONA...he swears he hates that name & hasn't even heard it before & was joking...but i laughed so hard (and got a little worried lol) so I keep it on the list for jokes.

FEBRUARY 2nd- right around the corner, our big ultrasound!!!!!!!!!!!!

13 wks

How far along:
the end of 13 weeks :)

Total Weight Gain:
still 6 lbs! haven't gained anything in a while.

Update:
finally bought a pair of pants, but they are still a little too big. and today I bought some really cute cardigans. I feel like I'll be adopting a new style now that I'm pregnant. Most of the clothes I use to buy/wear just wont look good or flattering to my new figure :D

Sleep:
i really do miss this hah, and I know it only gets worst. They say the 2nd trimester is the "honeymoon" stage and im guessssing (aka hopingggg) that sleep improves! :)

Miss anything: Actually i do miss tanning, it was so relaxing and i LOVED being tan. They say tanning isn't bad for the fetus, but bad for me.....what isn't these days? haha anyways figured I'd just stick to some spray tan a.s.a.p.

Movement:
not unh. Only at the ultrasounds we get to see the acrobatic moves haha, the baby is moving so much when we get to watch it, its crazy I don't feel anything. Just cramping sometimes, which I know is just all my insides growing and growing and growing.....anyways no movement haha.

Food Cravings:
oh yessss! Famous Daves is so delicious. I think it's mostly BBQ sauce because I went to Wal-Mart and bought all the Famous Daves sauces...than started eating them with meals I've never used BBQ sauce for before. haha Milk too of course! :) two gallons a week still.

Any new habits:
hate to admit this, but I've been really lazy lately haha. I barely got around to cleaning my entire house and I'm pretty sure I complained after every room haha. Plus I finished my books, so I mostly like to do .... um anything that involves no-activity. hah.

Things making you sick yet:
I've been having some bad gag reflexes lately & it's so annoying. Like brushing my teeth, i swear i refrain from throwing up every.single.day. & when I have to clean out pans from cooking, I get really nauseated at that weird sight of cleaning food. So at this point, Jeff gets dishes :) I told him I'd do the entire house for him to do dishes. Sounded perfect to me hahahh.

Starting to show yet: Yes 100%. Baby bump is here, and in full-swing. It's weird getting use to the extra looks when I'm shopping.

Gender prediction:
I think it's a boy still. But you know what, I truly am so happy for both genders! There is so many amazing things about girls, like making them look so fabulous everyday..but than thinking of their teenage years scares me. I do not want to deal with that! haha, and boys are so fun, & I've never pictured myself having a son...ever? (don't know why haha) so it'd be an amazing, AMAZING, life changing experience & I'm so ready for that too :)

Best moment this week:
now that my belly is a lot bigger and round, It's like 100% proof my baby is growing & makes me feel like a whole new person. I feel so connected to something/someone. I've also had this whole new appreciation for what MY parents do and for what ALL parents do.

12 weeks!!

About me & baby this week!

How far along: 12 weeks, almost 13!
Total Weight Gain:
as of last week, it was 6 lbs.
Maternity Clothes:
no, but I know I'm overdue for them. I tried buying some nice comfy pants for work & stuff, but it's only been two weeks and they already feel too tight & uncomfy. I've started looking around at maternity shops online.
Sleep:
I've been sleeping somewhat better! for about 5 hours at a time, wake up for a couple hours & than off to bed again. Jeffrey has been replaced with my body pillow, hahahha. it's the only thing I can cuddle with to fall asleep.
Miss anything: Actually I'm enjoying my new lifestyle... Nothing really!
Movement:
none that I can feel. This week the baby got reflexes though, so it's neat to think whenever I touch my belly he plays back and jumps around.
Food Cravings:
Milk is still in full swing. Had to buy two full gallons to hopefully get me by this week. I've been eating a lot of peanut butter toast and subway. Subs have always been so delicious, just especially now.
Any new habits:
I've never liked reading before haha but now I love reading. Right now I've been occupied trading off between my pregnancy book & The Hunger Games. Country music is also a new favorite.
Things making you sick yet:
veggies have seriously NEVER smelt more disgusting.
Starting to show yet: not everyone can tell, but all my close friends & family can most def. see the changes! And most importantly, I feel like I'm rockin a whole new body haha. the belly bump is in full swing & bumped up my clothes sizes already :)
Gender prediction:
I think it's a boy! At first I was 100% sure it couldn't be anything but a girl, but at some point I just got a whole different feeling. I'm predicting a boy for now!!
Best moment this week:
This week was fabulous. First, the test results came back from our last doc apt. & they were negative meaning the baby is all normal and aye-okayyy! That was such a relief. Oh and I also finished my chalkboard so I can start taking fun, and cute, maternity pictures!! One of my friends wrote me the sweeetest message over facebook about my pregnancy & how excited she was for me. It made me feel AMAZING. Thanks xennia :)

Gender Reveal Party?

The baby is starting to make an appearance and has decided to make my tummy grow at the speed of light. This isn't just exciting because it means my baby is growing & healthy, and it's not just super exciting because I'm finally getting this cute pregnancy bump (even though I check for stretch marks every .5 minutes and have become obsessed with putting lotion on,) but also because it means were that much closer to finding out if were having a little boy or a little gal!

I am really thinking of having a Gender Reveal Party. Not the traditional way though. Usually couples find out the sex of the baby with the family. I think I will tweak that part a little bit.... Jeffrey and I want to share that moment and find out together! Afterwards (right afterwards because we know we can't keep secrets good,) we will throw a party, a BBQ maybe, and play a lot of games. At the end, we will have had a reeeealllllyy cute cake made with some sort of blue/pink icing in the middle to reveal it. I think we will probably only invite are really close friends & family because are family and friends have been SO involved like more than I ever could have asked for. I want to involve them as much as possible so everyone feels so special.

I haven't put too much thought into what games and decorations we will do, but i need to because it's coming up. I can find out in 6 weeks which puts that date around the end of February. :)

so far these are my ideas......

I love this cake out of all the options I've seen so far!

I'm not going into my labor with a definite name picked out, I've always wanted atleast two or three REALLY good favorite choices & do my final selection after the baby has arrived, but I would love for my family to give some input.

This would be cute and fun, but instead of wearing their guesses, I'm going to set up a photobooth and put things like this on sticks for people to take fun pictures with. Like bows & necklaces & party boas. The boys can wear the mustaches and some fun facial hair stick ons.

It's coming up so I need to start getting more organized and plan this! Any suggestions would be LOVED!

11 weeks

This week I hit my 11 week mark. I never understood how girls can keep track of weeks, i mean before I got pregnant I couldn't even remember what yesterday was, but now I understand. So much changes, every week, every day of pregnancy, that it's impossible to not keep track. & it's the only thing on your mind...........always.

So this week I hit 11 weeks. And tomorrow is my second doctor's appointment. I'm really nervous for this doctor's appointment because it's a "screening" for any early birth defects and they'll also be screening me to find out the possibility of a miscarriage. Usually miscarriage screenings aren't included, but my mother had two miscarriages so far along in her pregnancy. She had one right at 8months, and the other at 5 months. The reason she miscarried was because her uterus was abnormally shaped so often the placenta would detach. That's why I asked for this type of screening to be included.

This week I started reading my first pregnancy book and I LOVE IT! I recommend it to everyone. It's called "The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy" I feel really alone sometimes being pregnant, I know 90% of it is my absolutely ridiculously uncontrollable devil-like hormones, but this book somehow makes me feel connected again with everyone.

Here are some of the changes I've been noticing...

This week's changes:

  • I got my first pregnancy bump! Which I catch myself looking at every time I'm in front of a mirror.

  • I started craving Milk. I didn't think this whole craving thing could be as intense as it's been and I'm sure I haven't even seen the best of it yet, but Jeff's been having to run to the gas station and buy a gallon of milk every other night because I've been drinking 2 full glasses at a time. mmmmmm

  • This week I haven't been to happy with the mood swings I get. I cried listening to my friend tell a story yesterday that wasn't even sad. I feel like a freak hahahah. PMS and mood swings are no joke ladies. I don't get to choose how I feel at this point in pregnancy. I could be watching my favorite movie, painting nails and with friends and still feel "alone." These hormones have me messed up!!!! Can't wait till this stage is long gone

  • I feel I have my energy back which they say was suppose to come at this point. 2nd trimester baby! So much better than my 1st haha.

  • Haven't thrown up in a long long time. I might be in the clear! No more morning sickness

  • Bought my first oil/lotion for stretchmarks which has become my new obsession. I make sure I put it all over my body to prevent as much stretch marks as i can. I don't think I'll get lucky though. They say that if your mother got stretch marks, than you are too as well and it's inevitable. We will see!
